Best Valorant Agents on Icebox Map

Every Valorant map has a unique layout which presents a unique set of challenges and possibilities for Agents and team comps. 

Icebox is no different in this aspect, as it features a design with plenty of tight spaces and elevated surfaces, which naturally favors a distinct set of Valorant Agents.

Best Icebox Duelists Valorant

Jett

Jett’s mobility and outplay potential make her one of the best-performing Duelists in the game on almost every map. 

Icebox is no different as Jett’s kit provides her with the tools necessary to easily navigate the map’s vertical elements and elevated areas.

Accessing high ground on Icebox is essential for any Duelist trying to take out opponents and no other Agent can get to elevated surfaces as easily as Jett due to her Updraft.

Once she reaches the high ground, it’s very difficult to defend against her attacks, especially if she equips her throwing knives which are lethal at any range.

Jett can also provide essential utility to her team with the usage of her Cloudburst smoke, allowing her to block sightlines and push for space.

Raze

Unlike Jett, Raze’s kit revolves around blasting her opponents into oblivion rather than trying to outplay them with dashes and mobility.

Raze excels at flushing out any site because of her abilities, all of which provide her with an insane amount of firepower. 

When it comes to pushing a site, none can do it like Raze as she’s able to force enemies into unfavorable positions because of her Cluster Grenade and Boom Bot.

However, no ability in her kit can compare to her ultimate in terms of damage and impact. Her Showstopper rocket launcher is able to singlehandedly wipe out multiple enemies at once.

Best Icebox Initiators Valorant

Sova

Strategically, Icebox is a map where Sova stands out as the best Initiator given the sheer intel he provides to the team with his abilities.

Very few abilities in the game provide as much information on the opponents as Sova’s Owl Drone which can be manually controlled through Icebox’s tight corridors.

On top of that, Sova has another reconnaissance-based ability in the form of his Recon Bolt which can be used to reveal the opponents’ position.

That being said, Sova is more than able to pack a punch and hold his own in a fight. With the usage of his Shock bolt, and especially his ultimate Hunter’s Fury, Sova can easily brush off any pesky Duelists who attempt to take him out while scouting.

Gekko

Unlike Sova who is primarily focused on exposing the opponent’s whereabouts and movements, Gekko provides a more versatile approach to the Initiator role.

With his kit full of calamitous creatures, Gekko has more than enough firepower to flush out any crowded site on Icebox, making him a valuable addition to any team comp.

There are very few Agents in the game who can match Gekko’s firepower, given that all 4 of his abilities deal damage or disrupt the opposition.

That being said, Wingman is undoubtedly the ability in his kit that stands out given that it allows Gekko to either defuse or plant the spike from a safe distance.

Best Icebox Controllers Valorant

Viper

Few Agents can flush out sites on Icebox and force opponents into unfavorable positions like Viper because of her poisonous abilities.

Her approach to the Controller role revolves around controlling space by utilizing her toxic abilities to create space for her team and damage opponents in the process.

Viper’s ulti, Viper’s Pit, embodies her playstyle as it establishes a practically impassable zone that deals damage and obstructs enemy vision. Her other abilities are nothing to be scoffed at though.

Both Viper’s Poison Cloud and Snake Bite provide utility by creating zone denial, which forces them to make sub-optimal rotations, allowing Viper’s team to capitalize in the process.

Harbor

Although a fairly unconventional pick at times that’s not the most popular among the general player base, Harbor is a great Controller pick on the Icebox map.

His abilities offer a unique mixture of utility and area denial which makes him invaluable on a map like Icebox that has plenty of elevated surfaces and narrow corridors.

Harbor can use his High Tide wall and Cascade wave to obscure enemy vision and interrupt their movements which allows for a consistent strategic edge over his opponents.

However, Harbor’s main strength is his ultimate, Reckoning, which is a complete game-changer. This ability can singlehandedly change the outcome of certain rounds by concussing and dispositioning several opponents at once, making Harbor a force to be reckoned with.

Best Icebox Sentinels Valorant

Sage

Every team loves having Sage around as she provides an unparalleled amount of utility in every scenario.

She is one of the very few Agents in the game who have the ability to heal other teammates, which makes her a valuable addition to any comp.

On top of that, she is the only Agent who can fully revive a fallen teammate which is a complete game-changer in most rounds. That being said, her healing and reviving isn’t the only thing Sage is good for. 

On Icebox particularly, her Barrier Orb wall can block off very important chokepoints such as spike plants, and the entire mid which provides her team with a crucial strategic edge.

Killjoy

Killjoy is a unique sentinel who excels on Icebox primarily because of her ability to hold down sites and create meaningful defensive setups.

This trait of hers is very valuable on this map as the map’s layout features several high-traffic areas that can be controlled with the usage of her abilities.

The main abilities in Killjoy’s kit that stand out in this context are her Alarmbot and Turret, both of which make it extremely difficult for the opposing team to safely enter sites.

Additionally, her Nanoswarm grenades can be used to surprise enemies who are trying to breach or retake a site as they serve as the main damage-dealing ability at her disposal.
