VALORANT presents 2025 VCT Season Capsules
VCT stands for the “Valorant Champions Tour.” An eSports pro-circuit for one of the most popular first-person shooters in the world. Riot Games, the studio behind Valorant is releasing 2025 VCT season capsules as a way to support the eSports franchise.
These capsules feature optional cosmetic content that allows players to both support and represent their favorite teams. In-game, purchases have historically proven very lucrative for Riot Games. In 2024, player purchases helped contribute more than $44 million to partnered teams.
Esports are rapidly growing and Valorant is no exception. If you are familiar with eSports betting at Bovada and in other licensed platforms, you probably know that Valorant is a game whose tournaments are followed by thousands of people, who place wagers on the teams involved.

Players should understand that the content in the capsule is completely optional and entirely cosmetic. It looks cool. Your purchase supports the game and the wider world of esports. However, if you aren’t interested or don’t have it in your budget, you can continue enjoying Valorant for free.
How much do VCT Season Capsules Cost?
At the time of writing, Riot Games has not released information on the cost of its 2025 season capsules. That said, previous comparable in-game purchase packages have cost around $25-30 and many players assume that this content will fall somewhere in that range.

You can buy your VCT Season Capsule directly within the game. On the home screen navigation menu, there is a page where you can purchase optional content.
When can you purchase the VCT Season Capsule?
The sale begins on February 6, 2025. The items will be removed on March 2nd, giving you a little less than a month to decide if this package is for you. Note that seasonal offerings do not re-emerge, nor should you hold out, hoping for an eventual sale.
While the skins will be permanently available once you buy them, the actual purchasing window is relatively narrow.
Valorant Background
When Valorant was first introduced in 2020, the game was met with almost immediate success. This first-person shooter (FPS) puts players in a virtual world of mayhem. The action is team-based, meaning you work remotely with other players from all over the world.

Valorant is actually free to download. You can get the title wherever you pick up your virtual games. Steam. The PS store. The Xbox Marketplace. Once you’ve installed it, you can begin playing with no need to spend any money at all.
Valorant does, however, feature in-game purchases in addition to the VCT Season Capsules. Pretty much all of these buying opportunities are for cosmetic upgrades. While spending money is optional, many fans look at their in-game purchases as a way to support the title.
Developing and maintaining an online multiplayer game costs an enormous amount of money. It’s thanks to in-game purchases that Valorant remains free to play.
What is Valorant Rated?
Valorant is rated “T for Teen.” This rating owes primarily to the violent nature of the content. The game also contains ESRP’s notorious “suggestive themes,” which is basically wink-and-nod humor. Obviously, every parent will have their own attitudes towards games involving significant gun violence.
It is worth noting that content in the “teen” category generally avoids graphic depictions of violence. Characters are “killed,” but in a way that won’t be seen as overly intense for most players.
Perhaps a bigger point of concern is the communication features. Players are able to interact with each other through both text and voice communication.
There is both “team chat,” which is used for tactical communication with the people you are playing with, and “all chat,” which consists of messages viewable to everyone on the server. Obviously, online communication is a point of concern and controversy for parents.
If you are worried about your child’s online communications in games like Valorant, consider encouraging them to play in centrally located spaces that are visible to you.
