All League of Legends Battle Pass From 2018 to 2025
The very first Battle Pass in League of Legends was issued in connection with Worlds 2018 (K/DA). These seasonal passes (which normally cost 1650 RP each) allow players to acquire tokens and cosmetic rewards in exchange for completing missions and playing matches.
Common to every pass is the free level (all players earn rewards) and the premium level, which can only be unlocked with purchases. You earn Battle Pass XP by completing daily/weekly challenges and playing matches, and with every 500 BXP, you advance your milestone toward getting loot.
The unspent levels can be purchased for 95 RP each. Below are details of event passes from the year 2018 to 2025.
Battle Pass System
Each seasonal pass offers free rewards and premium rewards. All players automatically earn free items by playing (icons or orbs), but purchasing the pass (cost 1650 RP) unlocks additional content. For example, Riot explains: “All players get the free battle pass rewards. If you want to unlock the paid content, you’ll have to grab the pass”.
Players can acquire Battle Pass XP (BXP) through playing matches and completing missions. Daily missions require players to “win any game” and reward players with BXP, while weekly missions reward players with 300 BXP, where “each day you'll get 100 BXP for simply playing”.
Each milestone in the pass costs 500 BXP to unlock, at which point the player claims the next reward (icon, essence, orb, etc.). Any unearned milestones can be bought with 95 RP each. Completing the entire pass often doubles essence gains. Worlds 2025 pass doubled Blue, Orange, and Mythic Essence rewards.
The duration of each pass is between 4 to 8 weeks. These passes can occur in connection with major events such as Worlds or season-specific events such as Lunar Revel or Star Guardian. Below are the passes with descriptions for each year.

Current/Last pass. The World's 2025 “Trials of Twilight” pass launched in October 2025. Riot’s support confirms: the Worlds 2025 Pass costs 1650 RP (free rewards exist, but premium content requires purchase).
It granted 200 tokens and 4 orbs on purchase. A 2650 RP bundle added champion Zoe (pictured on the support page) and icon; a 3650 RP premium bundle added chromas and the “Lavish Brutality” emote.
Trials of Twilight: Worlds Pass (Oct-Nov 2025)

Trials of Twilight is the final battle pass of 2025, themed around this year’s Worlds. It officially ran Oct 7 - Nov 18, 2025. The Worlds Pass (1650 RP) unlocked 200 Twilight Tokens and 4 orbs immediately, free players earned a set of baseline rewards.
A Trials of Twilight: Worlds Pass Bundle (2650 RP) added Zoe and a special border/icon. In early October, Riot’s support explained that all missions (milestones, token missions, etc.) are available to everyone, but only pass buyers can claim the non-bold (premium) rewards.
During the event, players earn Battle Pass XP (BXP) from daily play and missions, as usual. For example, playing any game gives a small amount of BXP, and weekly missions grant 300 BXP each. Each reward milestone requires 500 BXP.
Unlocked items include icons, emotes, and as the pass indicates, exclusive badge rewards. Significantly, completing the Trials of Twilight pass doubles essence rewards earned (Blue, Orange, Mythic Essence), effectively doubling the value of milestones.
To unlock pass content, simply play games and finish missions in Oct-Nov 2025. (If time is short, players can also buy individual 500-BXP milestones for 95 RP.) By the event’s end (Nov 18, 2025), owners of the pass can claim all premium rewards accrued; after Dec 1, all remaining tokens and pass levels expire.
Conclusion
Each LoL Battle Pass from 2018 to 2025 offered a themed set of rewards for playing. Early passes (like Worlds 2018) launched the system; later passes followed with unique skins (cosmetics themed to the event) and missions. The last pass, Trials of Twilight: Worlds (2025), continues this tradition - players bought the 1650 RP Worlds Pass to earn tokens and unlock exclusive content through match play.
